Many online sources are confirming that Laura Vandervoort (Kara) will not be returning as a series regular in Season 8. This confirms speculation that surfaced when she was not on the cast list in the CW's press release.
When we last saw Kara, in "Arctic," she was somewhere within the Phantom Zone.
"They announced the cast... and I'm not a part of it," Vandervoort told TV Guide's Matt Mitovich. "We were all surprised when they chose not to bring me back as a regular, but I'm sure I'll be back for one or two [episodes]!"
Vandervoort seems to have a good attitude about the whole thing. "The show is about Clark Kent, and I was honored to be a part of it. I mean, my character became more than it was supposed to be. She ended up sticking around the entire season," she told Ausiello.
Laura Vandervoort (Kara) has signed to star in the upcoming film sequel Into The Blue 2.
Laura plays part of a married couple hired as professional divers to search for Columbus' hidden treasure. Her husband will be played by Chris Carmack from the Smallville episode "Recruit." Also starring in the film is Audrina Patridge of The Hills.
Allison Mack (Chloe Sullivan) will be appearing at the the 30th annual Superman Celebration in Metropolis, Illinois. The Celebration will be held from June 12-15, 2008.
Past Smallville guests at the Celebration have included Michael Rosenbaum, John Schneider, Annette O'Toole, Helen Slater, Margot Kidder, and many more.
Kara decides to teach Clark how to fly in order to strengthen his chances against Brainiac. However, Brainiac seems to have the upper hand against the super cousins, and some of Clark’s loved ones are caught in the crossfire.
There the rumor that the Writers' Strike may be nearing its end! The strike is already lasting for 3 months, and thereby impair the production of our favorite series.
According to Kristin dos Santos, columnist for E! Online, the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers(AMPTP) and the Writers Guild of America (WGA) advanced enough in the agreement at the last meeting that took place last Friday.
If this strike end soon, we will have all 16 episodes provalmente pledged for Lost, and the end of the season, may not be the Smallville episode "Veritas".
